The short version: Angry Goose does not collect, transmit, sell or share any data about you. Everything it stores stays in your browser. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no servers.
Angry Goose is a Chrome extension that shows an animated goose on websites you choose, and makes her angrier the longer you stay. To do that it needs to know which sites to watch, how long you have been on them, and how you like it configured.
All of this is stored by Chrome on your own device, using Chrome's built-in extension storage. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
| Where | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
chrome.storage.sync |
Your settings: whether the goose is on, your list of watched sites, personality, sound / cursor-chase / strict-mode switches, work schedule, and whether you finished the welcome screens | So the goose behaves the way you configured her |
chrome.storage.local |
Your stats and badges: number of "honks" (times she appeared) in total, per day and per site, escapes, highest level reached, time spent at the top level, install date, daily snooze count, and sites you switched off for today | So the popup can show your streaks and badges |
chrome.storage.session |
Temporary per-site state: when your last "give me a break" ends and how long you have been on a site | So escalation survives a page reload. Chrome clears this when you close the browser |
Chrome Sync. If you are signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome itself may copy the settings in the first row (storage.sync) between your own devices through your Google account. That is a Chrome feature, governed by Google's privacy policy and your Chrome sync settings. We never receive that data.
Angry Goose runs only on the sites in your list (the built-in defaults, plus any you add and grant access to). On those pages it:
youtube.com) to know it should be active;<video> elements so it can pause them or change their playback speed at higher anger levels; It does not read the text of pages, form fields, passwords, cookies, your browsing history or the content of anything you type, and it does not record or transmit what you watch or read.
storage — to save the data in the table above.scripting — to put the goose on sites you add yourself, including tabs you already have open.chrome://extensions. Without that access, the goose cannot appear there.https://x.com/intent/post with a pre-filled message (your honk count, streak and personality name). Nothing is posted unless you press Post on X. X (Twitter) then handles that data under its own privacy policy.chrome://extensions. Chrome then deletes all of the data listed above. (Settings that Chrome Sync copied to your other devices are removed when you remove the extension there too, or via your Google account's sync controls.)Angry Goose is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.
If the extension ever changes what it stores or sends, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
